Meet Tulle and Nino – our impressive grey seals. Nino is a true giant, measuring over 2 metres long and weighing more than 200 kg! The grey seal is Denmark’s largest predator, and Kattegatcentret is the only aquarium in the country where you can experience a male grey seal up close – and even alongside a female.
Our two grey seals live in a large, outdoor natural enclosure, where they play in fresh seawater, hunt small fish and crabs on the seabed, relax on the shoreline and feel the changing of the seasons – just like in the wild. And they love it!
Come and see Tulle and Nino in action during their daily training and feeding sessions at 11:00 and 15:00 – a fantastic experience for the whole family!
Seal training
We train our grey seals every day to keep them mentally and physically stimulated. The training also ensures they are comfortable with human contact, which is important if they need medical care or have to be moved.
Our seals are incredibly clever – they can recognise letters and even leap high out of the water!
