New Maritime Playground Opens June 16, 2025

Ready for play and learning? On June 16, 2025, we’re opening a new indoor playground – featuring play ships, fishing huts, and harbour life for the little ones!

This summer, we’re opening the doors to an exciting new universe for the youngest members of the family – a maritime playground inspired by Grenaa’s lively fishing harbor.

From June 16, children can engage both hands and imagination as they climb aboard light-blue play ships, collect fish crates from the dock, and sell the day’s catch in their very own mini fish shop.

The playground features:

  • Fun child-sized play ships and trawlers

  • Small fishing huts and a miniature fish shop

  • Activities that combine play and learning

  • A sensory-friendly and safe environment for toddlers

While the children play, adults can explore the stories of Grenaa Harbor – from the golden age of fishing to the future’s blue opportunities like mussels and seaweed. Authentic archival photos bring the harbour’s life and evolution to life.

Why a harbor playground?

Harbour towns have always been gateways to the sea – but the charming small harbors are at risk of disappearing. Fishing is changing, and so is life in and under the sea. With this playground, we aim to tell the story of fishing’s importance, its transformation, and its future – through play, learning, and presence.

Experience the new playground from June 16 – where play meets learning, and the history of fishing comes alive for the whole family.
